Whether you’re eager to jumpstart your career or embark on a journey towards a 4-year degree, OCtech is here to support you every step of the way. Our admissions staff are not just here to help you through the process; they’re ready to make sure you feel right at home.

Applying to the college

  • New students can follow the simple steps below for admissions to OCtech. 
  • Returning students who have been away for THREE SEMESTERS will need to reapply for admissions.
  • If you are a returning student who last attended within three semesters, you DO NOT need to reapply for admissions.  You can sign into your existing student account and schedule an appointment with your advisor.

Applying online is easy and convenient.  You can complete your application online.

Complete a Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA). 
Visit our Apply for Financial Aid page to begin. Available financial assistance includes grants, loans, scholarships and South Carolina Lottery Tuition Assistance.

Once we receive your FAFSA, our financial aid staff will determine the financial benefits available to you, including Lottery Tuition Assistance.

Admissions testing is essential to determining your successful academic plan. Contact the Admissions Office prior to taking the placement test.

  • Submit your SAT, ACT, WorkKeys or ACCUPLACER test scores.
  • If you do not have these scores, the ACCUPLACER can be taken for free through OCtech’s Testing Center.

We give ACCUPLACER tests via our Virtual Testing Center and in-person by appointment.

Submit your high school transcript as well any college transcripts you may have completed at another college.

Register for classes

You’ll need to meet with an advisor before you can register for classes.  Your advisor will help design a plan to get you to graduation and help you with any questions you may have about your student accounts, scheduling, etc.

  • New students will meet with an Advisor in the Student Services office.
  • Returning students can log in their student account and located their advisor’s contact information and coordinate a meeting there.
